Client Charged with Possession of Marijuana in Virginia Found Not Guilty
Possession of Marijuana in Virginia is a considered a very serious charge. Punishment is dependent on factors such as the amount you are caught with as well as whether or not you are a repeat offender. In some cases, the judge will offer a “first offender” program to allow for the case to be dismissed.
Today in Hopewell General District Court, my client, charged with possession of marijuana, had his case completely dismissed without having to complete a first offender program. As a result, he avoided possible jail time and was able to keep a misdemeanor conviction off his criminal record.
