Reckless Driving ticket (63/40) Reduced in Petersburg, Virginia

Today in Petersburg Traffic Court I defended a client who was cited for going 23 mph over the posted speed limit. Typically when ticketed for going 20 mph or higher over the speed limit, it is difficult to avoid a reckless driving conviction. Furthermore, my client had multiple prior tickets and a criminal record.

At trial, I was able to get the reckless driving charge reduced to a non-moving violation which carries no points on a driving record. This was all accomplished without the use of driving school or community service.
